Mississippi Kids Cyclocross Program: Week 8 & Celebration Race- Spooky ‘Cross

Hello Parents/Supporters.

We missed the rain and had a great group of kids/parents showed up today at week eight and final of our curriculum-based free cycling program. We focus on the basic race skills; starts, group of 3 race starts, correct gear to be when starting a race, pedal placement and sprints. These kids are tough, committed and will be ready for our Ridgeland Mississippi Cyclocross Cup Series. We are so proud of y’all.

Important Announcements:

  • 2018 Spooky ‘Cross Festival. Don’t forget to register your kiddos for the first of two weekend of the Mississippi Cyclocross Cup Series. The event takes place on both Saturday and Sunday, October 27 & 28. We have multiple categories associated with the kids/junior categories. All kids ages are based on their age in 2019, example: If the racer is 9 years of age and will turn 10 in 2019, they need to be registered in the Under 15 Category (U15). Let me know if you have any questions. Here the registration page, at https://www.bikereg.com/spookycrossridgeland.
  • Volunteer Opportunities for this weekend: If you’re available, we need help setting up the course on Thursday from 4:30-6pm and Friday from 1-5pm. We will also need help to breakdown the course from 3-5pm or Sunday. Please email coach Ro at rolando@mscxproject.org with your availability.

Thank you and have a great weekend.

Healthy Regards,
